Risalat Zakaria
Risalat Zakaria discovered he had a passion for filmmaking at the age of 16 while enrolled in the Media Communications/Broadcast TV course at Brentwood High School with fellow DBM colleague, Hector Peralta. Although never formally studying film or filmmaking in any college setting, Risalat gained hands on experience while working for Revolution Images, where he would shoot and edit event footage and photos. He went on to shoot promotional/commercial content for local businesses, charities, and non profits for more than 8 years. He regularly partners with the team at IMI.NYC to shoot and edit music videos for NYC based artists. Currently, Risalat is employed at Film Rise, where he edits television series, movies, and trailers, as well as doing some light sound engineering and transcoding. More recently, he founded Dead Broke Media LLC, forming a team with fellow film-making enthusiasts to pursue passion projects, and create narrative based short films. He hopes to be able to produce quality content in a cost effective manner.
